About The Position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a crucial role in providing direct support and training to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The position focuses on enhancing the quality of life for those served by teaching essential living, social, community, and work skills. The DSP works collaboratively with a team to ensure effective support and guidance.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or 2 years of related work experience.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Current local background check.
• Current TB negative screening result.
• References and physical clearance to work with adults with IDD.
• Negative Covid-19 results.

Nice To Haves

• CNA license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and training for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities.
• Teach and educate individuals on living skills, social skills, community skills, and work skills.
• Document and communicate effectively regarding the individuals' progress and needs.
• Coordinate and plan activities that enhance the quality of life for the persons served.
• Assist with data entry and maintain accurate records.
