About The Position

Grace Community Care of NJ is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The role involves accompanying and transporting clients to various community engagement outings, ensuring their safety and well-being during these activities. The position requires a commitment to professionalism, punctuality, and teamwork, as well as proficiency in note-writing and time recording. The DSP will work closely with clients in a 1:1 setting, providing personal care and assistance with daily living activities, either in community settings or the clients' homes.

Requirements

• Must have experience working with clients with developmental disabilities.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• CPR Training and Certification in the last 2 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in related field preferred).
• Experience in direct support (1:1 DSP: 1 year required).
• Proficient in note-writing and time recording.
• Ability to pass employment and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in daily living activities, including personal care and assistance with ADLs either in the community or their own personal home.
• Observe and document patient behavior and progress, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Collaborate with team members and families to implement care plans.
• Utilize first aid skills as necessary and maintain a valid driver's license for transportation needs.
