About The Position
Join the BuildAbility Team as a Direct Support Professional! Are you someone who finds joy in assisting others in reaching their goals? Do you prefer being out in the community rather than confined to a desk? Currently, we're on the lookout for Direct Support Professionals to lend support to participants in our Tailored Day Services Program. Our mission is to carve out a space for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, encouraging them to envision a life without limitations and then guiding them toward turning that vision into a reality. As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for providing individual support in the home or community setting as identified in the participant's Individualized Personal Plan. You will work closely with the participant's support team to identify needs and develop plans, navigate private and public resources to create opportunities for growth, develop skills, and meet specific goals outlined in the Individual Service Design and IPP. In this role, you will travel with participants throughout the local community to attend social events, recreational activities, school, etc. You will advocate for participants' rights and individual choice in all settings and provide services in accordance with HCBS Final Rule guidelines. Additionally, you will complete required documentation, including daily notes, activities using Buildability digital platforms, and written reports of client progress or barriers encountered in meeting goals. This position is part-time, with hours assigned subject to change weekly based on availability, and you will be expected to work between 6 to 25 hours per week, primarily during the day shift from Monday to Friday, with some weekend availability.
