About The Position
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) position at Redwood Family Care Network is a vital role focused on providing person-centered care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The DSP is responsible for supporting clients in achieving a quality of life that promotes their health, safety, and well-being. This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of others. The DSP will work closely with clients to outline and prepare daily routines as specified in their Individual Program Plans (IPP). This includes assisting clients with personal care, preparing meals, and facilitating social interactions with family and friends. The DSP will also maintain a clean and safe environment for the clients, ensuring their comfort and security at all times. In addition to direct care responsibilities, the DSP serves as an advocate for clients, helping them to achieve their personal goals and participate in leisure activities. The role may involve transporting clients in company vans, reporting incidents, and communicating effectively with administrators about client needs and progress. The DSP is expected to engage actively with clients, encouraging them to socialize and participate in community activities, thereby enhancing their overall quality of life. This position is available for both full-time and part-time shifts, including mornings, evenings, and weekends, providing flexibility for candidates.
