The position involves the overall supervision, protection, and care of individuals with moderate to complex needs. Responsibilities include maintaining house rules, facilitating learning in fire safety, and identifying signs of potential harm. The role requires providing support in various settings according to individualized service and behavior support plans, ensuring health and safety, and managing crisis situations. The individual will also maintain a clean and organized work environment, implement protective oversight plans, and assist individuals in maximizing their strengths and interests. Additional duties include personal care, medication administration, and facilitating social activities.

  • Supervise, protect, and care for individuals at all times.
  • Facilitate learning and training in fire safety.
  • Identify and escalate signs of potential harm to self or others.
  • Provide support according to individualized service and behavior support plans.
  • Ensure health, wellness, and safety through appropriate supervision.
  • Manage crisis situations while adhering to policies and regulations.
  • Implement Individual Behavior Support Plans (IBSPs) and Individualized Program Plans (IPPs).
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Utilize safe handling procedures and implement COVID mitigation protocols.
  • Assist individuals in maximizing their strengths and interests.
  • Support individuals in meeting personal goals and engaging in social activities.
  • Provide personal care and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Administer medication as prescribed.
  • Facilitate ethical decision making and support person-centered advocacy.
  • Plan and prepare balanced meals according to dietary restrictions.
  • Transport and escort individuals on recreational activities and appointments.
  • Complete and maintain necessary trainings and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and program leadership.
  • Collect and summarize data on observable individual behavior.
  • Implement Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Participate in the development of treatment plans.
  • High school diploma or its educational equivalent.
  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting.
  • Tuberculosis test or proof of negative TB test results.
  • Valid Driver's License may be required based on position/location.
  • Must hold or obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within one year.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills including email and related systems.
  • Interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to take initiative.
  • Ability to meet essential physical demands of the position.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field.
  • Knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
  • Valid Driver's License strongly preferred for California assignments.
  • $20.00/hour compensation.
