About The Position

This is an entry level role in the residential, group home, setting. This position is primarily responsible for following all health and safety protocols outlined in each individual’s ISP. This is done by adhering to the policies and practices of the department which follow state regulations. Clear and thorough, consistent communication / follow-up with all team members, including but not limited to family, medical professionals, supports coordinators, behavior consultants, and other TCV staff and supervisors is required. In accordance with the casual agreement, casual employees are to be available to work a minimum of 25 hours per month (either 8 hour or 12.5-hour shifts).

Requirements

  • GED or High School diploma.
  • Driver’s license is required.
  • Must be free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical substances or controlled substances.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience preferred (not required) working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Engaging and interacting with individuals in a positive manner, regardless of individualss’ behaviors.
  • Provide and ensure a safe environment, constantly supervise individuals, follow program rules and routines, and report and document all safety related incidents.
  • Ensure the environment is clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing.
  • Teach and assist individuals in ADLs such as room cleaning, chores, laundry, personal hygiene.
  • Demonstrates commitment to family engagement and individuals driven care principles.
  • Supervise designated shifts and ensure all activities are planned and executed in the appropriate manner. Staff ensure appropriate notifications are made and that all relevant shift documentation is accurate and completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist clinicians by reviewing service notes for quality, conducting observations and providing feedback for required trainings (ex. Essential Skills), being a mentor, etc.
