About The Position

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health - Massachusetts' STARR is an off campus group home located in Paxton, MA, and serves co-ed youth, ages 6 to 12, on a rapid reintegration care program. With a 1:3 staff to student ratio, identify and treat safety/risk factors, barrier behaviors, factors that precipitated placement, and facilitate reintegration of the youth to the family or next appropriate placement in the shortest time period possible, usually within a matter of days.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Active driver's license is required.
• High School diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or Special Education preferred.
• Previous experience preferred (not required) working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders.
• Must be MAPS certified, or able to obtain certification with 90 days of employment.
• Must be able to attend a 2 week paid orientation, which runs Monday-Friday, 8AM to 4PM.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program clients while improving functioning and minimizing interfering behaviors.
• Providing client documentation to include shift reports, incident reports, and individual progress notes.
