About The Position
ARISE-Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide community habilitation services in the Minoa, NY area with creative 8-year-old boy. DSP must be dependable, compassionate, attentive to this his needs. Staff must enjoy interacting with children with disabilities and be proactive in helping him experience the world around him. Staff will be required to be able to lift at least 50 pounds. He enjoys reading books, learning materials, making crafts, going for walks, going to the library and utilizes an i-Pad to communicate. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, patient, and caring. Prior experience is a plus but not necessary. Reliable transportation, driver's license, and a high school diploma/GED are required. Background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the agency. Hiring 1-4 days a week from 2:30-6:00pm. Pay rate starts at $28 ARISE- EFR is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Requirements
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
- High school diploma/GED
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
- Prior experience is a plus but not necessary.
