About The Position

Arise is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work in the Baldwinsville area to work with an active and friendly young woman. She is looking for staff to assist her with maintaining her independence both at home and in community settings. This individual is often shy and requires patience and assistance to discuss and interact with others. She benefits from pauses to process information before engaging. She would like staff that are interested in participating alongside her, assisting her to remain engaged. She’d like staff that are able to encourage her to direct her day and her services, so she can identify her preferences and maximize her independence.

Requirements

Reliable
Patient
Active
Reliable transportation
High School diploma/GED
Valid driver's license
Effective communication and organizational skills
Flexibility with assignments and schedule
Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy
Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire

Responsibilities

Assist with maintaining independence both at home and in community settings
Go to the gym and walk or exercise in her community such as at parks
Facilitate socialization and recreational activities with peers
Assist with meal preparation
Provide general independence support
Research, discuss, and participate in making plans with friends
Assist with shopping
Play video games
Assist with accessing memberships
Help find new activities of interest
Participate alongside the individual and assist her to remain engaged
Encourage the individual to direct her day and services to identify preferences and maximize independence
