Pay: $22.34/hour Sign-on Bonus: $1000 Overview Peer Trainer DSP provide challenging, meaningful activities that promote personal growth to adults with varying disabilities attending the Day Program. As the lead person on shift, this position ensures staff are properly trained and all required regulations are met including the incident management process and the proper delivery of all services. Benefits are based on position and scheduled hours Responsibilities Peer Trainer DSP assumes a leadership role and models appropriate support strategies to staff while providing ongoing learning opportunities. This includes ensuring all billable services are accurately documented and reconciled by deadline and all social activities and community integration are meaningful and well-planned. This position participates in the Incident Review process and ensures all required regulations are met. The Peer Trainer DSP provides therapeutically based skills training in functional life skills, vocational, self-direction, community utilization, socialization, and communication. In this role you will offer opportunities for choice, initiation, and risk taking while capitalizing on each person’s capabilities, strengths, and preferences. This position may provide transportation and accompany individuals on community outings and volunteering assignments, using personal and agency vehicles. Assistance with personal care may also be required while promoting independence. This position works within a multidisciplinary team following all support plans, including behavior plans, and is responsible for accurate documentation. Peer Trainer Staff are provided a paid New Employee Orientation and receive training on CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, Defensive Driving , and Medication Administration. Com prehensive program-specific training at the work site is also provided.
