About The Position

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll be the heart of the home assisting residents with daily living, helping build skills, ensuring safety, and making each day meaningful. On any given shift you will: Support residents’ chosen lifestyles by helping with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, mobility) Assist with meal planning, preparation, grocery shopping, and maintaining a clean, safe, home-like environment Accompany residents in the community for appointments, social outings, employment training, recreation, and errands Implement individualized support plans (Person-Centered Plans, Behavior Support Plans) and document notes, incident reports, progress updates Observe health and behavioral changes, collaborate with clinical and management teams, and advocate for resident needs and rights Promote social inclusion, skill-building, independence, and community connection Work collaboratively with your team to foster a nurturing, respectful, and high-quality environment Provide weekend, evening or overnight coverage as part of the schedule (depending on your shift)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Clean background check, drug screening, and health screening (in line with state requirements)
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and good documentation
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, standing, assisting residents with mobility or transfers (where applicable).
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, positive attitude, ability to motivate and support people toward greater independence.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (including weekends, nights, holidays), depending on house staffing needs.
  • Certifications in CPR/First Aid, crisis intervention/de-escalation, medication administration. (We will provide this training if needed).
