About The Position

Join Us as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Floater! If you're adaptable, dependable and ready for a role where no two days are the same, this is your opportunity to make a real difference. As a DSP Floater at Community Options, Inc. (COI), you'll bring flexibility and heart to every shift by supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in living richer, more meaningful, and more independent lives. The DSP Floater must be available to work varying days and shifts at a variety of service/client locations. The DSP Floater will provide service and support to people with developmental disabilities to help them achieve more meaningful and productive lives in accordance with the values statements of COI. Provision of service takes place in a variety of locations including COI facilities, supported employment and in the community-at-large. Person Centered Planning (PCP) takes place with all clients and staff participate in the planning and implementation of the PCP. What You'll Do – Key Responsibilities You'll step into different assignments based on agency needs, serving in a variety of settings. Your support can range from a friendly reminder to full assistance, depending on each person's abilities. Every shift you work is a chance to help someone take a step toward independence, build confidence, and feel connected to their community. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license and a driving record acceptable to COI's insurance company.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, as required for operating dual-wheel vehicles used in the transportation of clients.
  • Acceptable criminal background check.
  • Ability to successfully complete Medication Administration Examination and First Aid/CPR within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Follow each individual's Service Plan and adapt as needed throughout the year.
  • Assist with community integration, habilitation, supported employment, residential care, mentorship, and transportation.
  • Teach and support social interaction skills-communication, leisure activities, self-care, and more.
  • Provide hands-on help with daily living skills: dressing, bathing, cooking, cleaning, and menu planning.
  • Administer medications according to State of Colorado guidelines.
  • Monitor health and behavior changes, reporting them per protocol.
  • Drive agency vehicles to take individuals to appointments, work, and community events.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
  • Communicate with respect and professionalism in tone, language, and body language.
  • Complete accurate, timely documentation for skill training, progress notes, personal care, medication logs, timesheets, and incident reports.
  • Be on time, attend mandatory trainings, staff meetings, and manager check-ins.
  • Work independently but know when to seek help.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and professional conduct standards.
  • Take on other duties as needed-because teamwork makes the dream work!
