About The Position

Rewarding Work with Remarkable People - Flexible Schedule - Paid Training The Vocational Training Center (VTC) of Fargo, ND is now searching for candidates to join our Family Support Services team as Direct Support Professionals (DSP). DSPs in this program are responsible for providing active support to individuals in the family home and/or in the community. Areas of support will include health maintenance, medication administration, personal cares, behavior management and life skills development.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Current driver's license
• Female staff only (due to personal cares needed and family request)

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Responsibilities

• Accompanying individuals to community and social events
• Assisting individuals with personal care responsibilities, administer medications and provide transportation based on individual needs
• Supervising, teaching independent skills, and providing guidance to children and adults with disabilities and mental illness in a variety of home, community, and social settings
• Documenting individual information as required by the Person-Centered Service Plan
• Maintaining flexibility and composure while working alone or in a team environment
• Completing the competency-based modules as dictated by the North Dakota Department of Human Service, Developmental Disabilities Division.
