Every Weekend Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP)
About The Position
The Arc of the Quad Cities Area has several part-time, First-Shift Direct Support professionals (DSPs) positions available to help our individuals live their best lives. The Arc's mission is to empower people with disabilities to believe in their unique abilities and achieve their full potential by providing quality, innovative services that focus on advocacy, inclusion, independence, employment, meaningful community life, and personal happiness. If you are passionate about working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, we would love to meet you and discuss this opportunity further. Each of our part-time DSP positions requires working every weekend. Their hours will vary between 6AM and 3PM, accruing 24 hours a week. The schedules would consist of working 4 days a week. We would be more than glad to discuss the schedules with you after your first interview. These schedules are created to help fit the programs and individuals' needs. Responsibilities
- Provide care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Supervision
- Personal care training
- Active treatment
- Medication administration when necessary
- Ensure the safety and well-being of designated individuals at all times
- Ensure self-advocacy training for individuals and ensure informed choices are being offered
- Maintain documentation in compliance with agency and regulatory standards (e.g., individual data sheets, incident reports, etc.)
- Provide input on individual progress and needs for programmatic purposes and more.
