About The Position

Empowered Services is a one-on-one attendant care agency providing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) support and community-based services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in their own homes. Our mission is to support individuals in building independence, engaging in their communities, and living meaningful, self-directed lives. We are hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide 1:1 in-home and community-based support for a child in the Gresham area. In this role, you will: Support daily routines and personal care Engage in play-based and interactive activities Encourage skill development and communication Provide safe, attentive, and consistent care This position is ideal for someone who is playful, dependable, and experienced or comfortable supporting children with autism . You will be supporting a child who: Is minimally verbal and on the autism spectrum Enjoys singing, dancing, outdoor play, and movies like Moana Thrives with engaging, interactive, and upbeat support Benefits from consistency, patience, and sensory-aware care The family is looking for a provider who is comfortable: Supporting community outings , including church Being around animals/pets Creating a fun, structured, and supportive environment

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Current auto insurance (meeting state requirements)
  • Ability to pass a background check (not all records are disqualifying)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in caregiving, DSP, or community support roles
  • Experience supporting individuals with I/DD
  • CPR/First Aid certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide ADL support (hygiene, routines, daily care)
  • Engage in play-based learning and activities
  • Support fine motor skill development
  • Assist with community access and outings
  • Follow structured routines and provide smooth transitions
  • Use autism-informed and sensory-aware approaches
