About The Position

AHRC New York City is seeking Full and Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Adult Day Programs in All Five Boroughs. Full-Time Positions: Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm. Pay Rate: $17-$18 per hour...increases to $18 per hour after six moths if in good standing. In addition, this position comes with a comprehensive Benefit package. See Benefit information below. Per-Diem positions: Schedule: Monday -Friday 8:30am -2:30pm. Pay Rate: $20 per hour The following Bonuses are available to both Full-Time and Per-diem positions, depending on the Programs need $2,000 annually upon completion and passing of AHRC Defensive Driving class $2,000 annually upon completion of AMAP training Why become an AHRC NYC DSP! Requirements

  • Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver, and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge, and interpret same.
  • Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
  • Reasonable flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
