FT - Direct Support Professional (DSP) Support Services/ Baltimore County
About The Position
We are seeking a Full Time Personal Supports (DSP) to provide hands-on care to individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities providing assistance with personal hygiene, activities/ outings, social engagement, shopping, planning, cooking, and cleaning. Support a young woman in Baltimore County with building independence and community by working on skills and participating in activities in my community. Assist with finding new activities of interest and planning a weekly schedule of activities. Staff should be patient, respectful, trustworthy, and able to encourage and participate in living a fun and fulfilling life. DSPs assist with creating opportunities for individuals to live full and productive lives by: Assisting with participation and exploration of the community Cultivating and expanding independent living skills Assisting with the development of meaningful and personal relationships Implementing strategies to achieve individuals’ personal goals.
Requirements
- Eligible candidates must have a high school degree/GED
- Must have a current driver’s license with less than three points on the driving record
- Must be patient, respectful, and trustworthy
- Must be able to encourage and participate in living a fun and fulfilling life
- Some lift and transfer may be required
