About The Position

Community Access Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Scappoose, OR, to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role involves developing meaningful, person-centered relationships, assisting with daily living activities, supporting community participation, and encouraging skill development, confidence, and social connections. The position requires following individualized support plans, administering medications safely, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. No prior experience is required as paid training is provided.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license and ability to become an approved company driver
• Ability to pass a national background check
• Compassionate communicator with patience, problem-solving skills, and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and assist individuals with mobility needs
• Dependable, respectful, and committed to person-centered support

Responsibilities

• Develop meaningful, person-centered relationships that support independence, dignity, and personal choice
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal prep, personal care, and household routines
• Support individuals in community participation, recreation, appointments, and working toward personal goals
• Encourage skill development, confidence, and social connections
• Follow individualized support plans (full training provided)
• Administer medications safely and keep accurate records
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
• Serve as a positive role model and advocate for the needs and preferences of those you support
