PT - Direct Support Professional (DSP) Support Services/ Harford
About The Position
We are seeking a Part Time Personal Supports (DSP) to provide hands-on care to individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities providing assistance with personal hygiene, activities/ outings, social engagement, shopping, planning, cooking, and cleaning. Support a young woman with participating in activities in her community and developing independence. Assist with identifying and participating in new activities of interest, money skills, exercise and exploring the community. Assistance needed with getting ready for the day and transportation to group meet up on Tues/ Wed/ Thurs. Staff should be patient, respectful, trustworthy, and able to encourage and participate in living a fun and fulfilling life. DSPs assist with creating opportunities for individuals to live full and productive lives by: Assisting with participation and exploration of the community Cultivating and expanding independent living skills Assisting with the development of meaningful and personal relationships Implementing strategies to achieve individuals’ personal goals.
Requirements
- Staff should be patient, respectful, trustworthy, and able to encourage and participate in living a fun and fulfilling life
- Eligible candidates must have a high school degree/GED and a current driver’s license with less than three points on the driving record
- Some lift and transfer may be required
