As a Direct Support Professional / DSP, you’ll play a critical role in carrying out that mission by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals. Schedule: Part-Time, Tuesday – Thursday 8:00am-3:00pm Location: Morehead City, NC Compensation: $18.00/hour Your Role in Our Mission : Transition to Employment: Support individuals during Job Club activities, volunteerism, and job shadowing. Accompany supported individuals to their community-based site to provide on-the-job training. Analyze job duties and tasks and completes a thorough job task analysis. Assist individuals in mastering skills and meeting production standards, fading support as appropriate. Assist in performing an individual’s job duties to maintain necessary production as well as model work behavior. Provide supplemental evaluation, work development, and intensive training activities with individuals being supported according to their service plan and work schedule. Recreation: Responsible for supporting individuals at learning and increasing skills in all areas of independence including, but not limited to: Self-help skills, independent living skills, accessing community resources, and pursuit of leisure activities. Participate in all program activities while ensuring safety, health, hygiene, and nutritional needs are met. Lift and transfer individuals as needed. This position may have additional responsibilities of Vehicle Driver and/or Vehicle Monitor. The Vehicle Monitor is responsible for monitoring individuals supported while being transported to and from Empower Site including planned outings and fieldtrips.
