About The Position

Direct Support Professionals play an important role within our organization and in the lives of the individuals we serve. PPCH is currently looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support our clients in a variety of areas. Thrive as a caregiver and each day you’ll: provide meaningful, educational, and supportive services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities receiving community-based services in a variety of settings support an environment where our members receiving services are healthy, safe and valued by others by possibly assisting them with learning and exploring their community and their personal interests according to their person-centered support plan or personal goals be assisting our members in services with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care and hygiene or moving to and from a wheelchair comply with all PPCH policies and the rules and regulations of all State and Federal oversight agencies maintain respectful and professional relationships with our members receiving services, guardians, family members, team members and other staff members attend PPCH team, staffing, and interdisciplinary team meetings as needed or as requested and so much more…

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • To successfully complete the required training provided by PPCH
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite or other similar software is required
  • Must be able to document all services provided in PPCH systems, as trained
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with effective listening skills, even when non-traditional communication is used
  • Must be able to respectfully address issues of health and safety while supporting an individual’s choices and maintaining their dignity
  • Able to work and adhere to your schedule independently with little or no direct supervision, holding yourself accountable to deadlines
  • A current, valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to meet PPCH’s driving requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with adults with development or intellectual disabilities
  • Experience working within the Colorado Developmental Disabilities system
  • The ability to safely operate a 15-passenger van
