See bonus information below. Bonuses (depends on driving status & program needs):$2,000 annually upon completion and passing of AHRC Defensive Driving class$2,000 annually upon completion of AMAP trainingSchedule - Monday - Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm.Why become an AHRC NYC DSP! Requirements
- Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Drivers License for more than one year in good standing preferred
- Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
- Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver, and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge, and interpret same.
- Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
- Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.
- High School diploma or GED is required.
Responsibilities
- Work with participants by assisting them to learn and develop social skills, daily living skills and habits.
- Accompany participants to appointments, community outings, and other activities.
- Complete progress notes and make entries into the daily log book.
