PT - Direct Support Professional (DSP) Support Services/ Baltimore County
About The Position
We are seeking a Full Time Personal Supports (DSP) to provide hands-on care to individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities providing assistance with personal hygiene, activities/ outings, social engagement, shopping, planning, cooking, and cleaning. Support a woman in the Parkville/ Overlea area with building independence and community by working on skills and participating in activities in my community. Enjoys going bowling, country music, swimming, etc. Great sense of humor. Uses arm crutches to assist with mobility and may need support navigating new or unsteady walking surfaces. Staff should be patient, respectful, trustworthy, and able to encourage and participate in living a fun and fulfilling life. DSPs assist with creating opportunities for individuals to live full and productive lives by: Assisting with participation and exploration of the community Cultivating and expanding independent living skills Assisting with the development of meaningful and personal relationships Implementing strategies to achieve individuals’ personal goals.
Requirements
- High school degree/GED
- Current driver’s license with less than three points on the driving record
- Patient
- Respectful

- Able to encourage and participate in living a fun and fulfilling life
- Some lift and transfer may be required
