The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with maintaining a safe and healthy household environment. This position involves adhering to and providing individualized support as outlined in the Individual Support Plan. The DSP is responsible for accepting and working within established household routines and fulfilling assigned responsibilities, which include laundry, shopping, meal planning and preparation, and household cleaning. CFL has a no-single lift policy, and Direct Support Professionals are fully trained in appropriate movement procedures for the individuals they support, including the use of hoyer lifts. The DSP also assists with hygiene and daily health needs, including shower assistance, personal care, cleaning, and medication management. Effective communication with CFL management is essential, especially in the event of accidents, and attendance at routine house meetings, workshops, and training is required. Additionally, the DSP provides reliable transportation to and from appointments, grocery stores, community activities, and events, and is responsible for maintaining accurate timekeeping and scheduling.
