Requirements

  • 6 months to 2 years of previous Direct Support Professional (DSP) job-related experience expected.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
  • A valid driver’s license and 6 months driving experience.
  • Access to a vehicle with valid insurance, registration, and inspection.
  • A team player who can be flexible with their schedule.
  • Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of applicable compliance regulations (i.e., Chapter 51, 2380, 6400).
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain productive and trusting relationships with each individual who receives supports.
  • Ensure that supports are provided in a manner that is conducive to growth, skill development, and improved self-esteem.
  • Assist with ensuring the achievement of the overall program objectives, outcomes, and quality improvement.
  • Ensure that all the medical needs of the individuals are fulfilled, including scheduling of medical appointments, transportation to and from the appointment, and implementing all follow-up recommendations.
  • Ensure that all individuals have a safe and compliant living environment, monitor the home for routine maintenance, and complete all requirements for requesting repairs and service.
  • Design specific and unique goal plans for the development of the individuals’ growth and attainment of life skills. Monitor and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Develop and enhance partnerships with individuals, staff members, and external stakeholders.
  • Implement individual-focused initiatives that enhance the individual experience and support a Servant Leader culture, with a focus on individual satisfaction.
  • Apply leadership strategies to maximize individual and employee engagement.
