About The Position

At Dungarvin, we are a mission-driven team providing support services, rooted in respect, response, and choice. Since 1976, we have been dedicated to offering person-centered supports that enable individuals to live as independently as possible. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will work directly with people in need of assistance, including those living with intellectual or developmental disabilities or other complex medical needs. Our team, operating in 15 states, is united by a shared commitment to making a real difference in individuals' lives, one person, one voice, one choice at a time. This role involves providing hands-on care, assisting individuals with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, transportation, housekeeping, and laundry duties, all while fostering independence. You will also be responsible for creating a safe and welcoming environment to ensure comfort and support, and for mentoring and guiding individuals to achieve their personal goals and aspirations.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Passion for Helping Others
  • Physical stamina to stay on your feet, walk, stand, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Basic computer skills for tracking progress and documentation.
  • Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members

Responsibilities

  • Provide Hands-On Care: Assist individuals with daily activities like personal care, meal prep, transportation, housekeeping, and laundry duties, all while fostering independence.
  • Create a Safe & Welcoming Environment: Maintain a clean, safe space that ensures comfort and support while helping individuals reach their personal goals.
  • Mentor & Guide: Provide supervision, positive reinforcement, and guidance to help individuals achieve their aspirations.
