About The Position

As a DSP in our Waukesha and Greater Milwaukee Area programs, you will plan and teach recreational activities as well as activities of daily living, provide personal cares, and support community integration for adults with developmental disabilities. In this role you will perform other duties such as transporting clients locally (Waukesha/Brookfield and surrounding area), completing and maintaining accurate reports, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Don’t have any DSP, Caregiver, or CBRF related experience? We provide all the paid classroom and on-the-job training needed. After completing our training program, you will be a CBRF certified DSP!

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, clients, and employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to problem solve with a variety of variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to interpret and follow through on instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets the standards set forth by the organization and valid vehicle insurance.
  • Ability to complete and maintain all required training in accordance with organizational, County, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Ability to respond to and de-escalate behavior issues.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to make sound decisions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships.
  • Ability to be flexible to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Knowledge of developmental disabilities
