About The Position
The position involves performing all duties of a Direct Support Professional (DSP) 1, ensuring the overall supervision, protection, and care of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). The role includes assisting individuals in maximizing their strengths, interests, and abilities while upholding their personal rights and facilitating community connections. Responsibilities include ensuring health, wellness, and safety through appropriate supervision, leading during crisis situations, and implementing individualized service and behavior support plans. The DSP 2 is expected to model professionalism, maintain a clean and organized environment, and assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, and medication administration. The role also involves teaching skills, supporting advocacy efforts, and facilitating communication among individuals. The DSP 2 will collect and summarize data on individuals' behavior, report changes, and communicate effectively with team members and external providers. The position requires participation in team meetings, compliance with regulatory requirements, and may involve administrative tasks related to financial and clinical functions.
