Support will be provided in various settings according to individualized service and behavior support plans, demonstrating the OPWDD Core Competencies. The employee will maintain a clean and organized therapeutic environment, implement infection control protocols, and assist with personal care and daily living activities. Additional responsibilities include administering medication, teaching skills, facilitating ethical decision-making, and providing supervision for meal preparation. The employee will also transport individuals to various activities and appointments, develop specialized clinical knowledge, and collect and summarize data on individuals' behaviors. The role requires effective communication, teamwork, and compliance with all relevant regulations.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to meet essential physical demands of the position.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Basic computer skills including email and related systems.
  • Must hold or obtain and maintain SCIP-R certification within one year.
  • Must hold or obtain and maintain additional required certifications within one year.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Ability to work beyond regularly scheduled hours as needed.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Van certification may be required.
  • High school diploma or its educational equivalent.
  • Work or life experience supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
