Provide emotional support and build positive relationships.
Support individuals to meet personal goals that enhance quality of life.
Engage in respectful communication and encourage socialization.
Supervise, protect, and care for individuals at all times.
Facilitate learning and training in fire safety.
Manage crisis situations while adhering to policies and regulations.
Implement person-centered, individualized plans.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapeutic environment.
Provide personal care and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
Ensure medication is administered as prescribed.
Teach and develop skills for individuals.
Facilitate ethical decision making and support person-centered advocacy.
Transport and escort individuals to various activities and appointments.
Collect, record, and summarize data on individuals’ observable behavior.
Serve as a member of a team, providing feedback and maintaining a solution-oriented approach.
Complete and maintain necessary trainings and certifications.
Utilize approved training techniques to respond to challenging behavior.
Provide coverage for other direct support staff as needed.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to meet essential physical demands of the position.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Enthusiasm for working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Basic computer skills including email and related systems.
Must hold or obtain and maintain SCIP-R certification within one year.
Must hold or obtain and maintain additional required certifications within one year.
Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
Ability to work beyond regularly scheduled hours as needed.

High school diploma or its educational equivalent.
Work or life experience supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

$18.00/hour compensation.
