  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapeutic environment.
  • Provide personal care and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Ensure medication is administered as prescribed.
  • Teach and develop skills for individuals.
  • Facilitate ethical decision making and support person-centered advocacy.
  • Transport and escort individuals to various activities and appointments.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on individuals’ observable behavior.
  • Serve as a member of a team, providing feedback and maintaining a solution-oriented approach.
  • Complete and maintain necessary trainings and certifications.
  • Utilize approved training techniques to respond to challenging behavior.
  • Provide coverage for other direct support staff as needed.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to meet essential physical demands of the position.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Basic computer skills including email and related systems.
  • Must hold or obtain and maintain SCIP-R certification within one year.
  • Must hold or obtain and maintain additional required certifications within one year.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Ability to work beyond regularly scheduled hours as needed.
  • High school diploma or its educational equivalent.
  • Work or life experience supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • $18.00/hour compensation.
