The individual will be responsible for the overall supervision, protection, and care of individuals, ensuring health, wellness, and safety by managing crisis situations and adhering to applicable policies and regulations. The role also involves implementing person-centered, individualized plans and maintaining a clean and organized therapeutic environment.

  • Responsible for the overall supervision, protection, and care of individuals.
  • Ensures health, wellness, and safety by providing appropriate supervision.
  • Provides support in a variety of settings according to individualized service plans.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized therapeutic environment.
  • Utilizes safe and appropriate handling procedures when working with individuals.
  • Assists with personal care and activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Ensures medication is administered as prescribed.
  • Facilitates ethical decision making and supports person-centered advocacy.
  • Transports and escorts individuals on recreational activities and appointments.
  • Develops an understanding of specialized clinical knowledge for person-specific needs.
  • Implements Behavior Support Plans as written by Behavior Intervention Specialist.
  • Collects, records, and summarizes data on individuals' observable behavior.
  • Serves as a member of a highly effective team, providing feedback and communicating needs.
  • Completes and maintains all necessary trainings and certifications.
  • Reviews communication logs and enters data as part of daily operations.
  • Complies with all Federal, State, Local and other relevant regulatory agency requirements.
  • Reports maintenance and safety concerns observed at YAI facilities.
  • Provides coverage for other direct support staff as requested.
  • May participate in the development of treatment plans.
  • Operates YAI motor vehicle to transport individuals as required.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to meet essential physical demands of position including frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling and reaching.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working with people with I/DD and ability to demonstrate positivity, patience, and empathy.
  • Basic computer skills including email and utilizing Workday.
  • Must hold or obtain and maintain SCIP-R certification within one year.
  • Must hold or obtain and maintain additional certifications as required by program assignment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Ability to work beyond regularly scheduled hours/shift.
  • Must hold or obtain and maintain valid Driver's License and Van certification if required.
  • HS diploma or its educational equivalent.
  • Work or life experience supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
