Rising Ground, one of New York’s largest and most respected nonprofit human services providers, is expanding its team and has immediate opportunities for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for our Yonkers facilities. This is an excellent first step into a rewarding career in social services with long-term growth potential. Position Overview Direct Support Professionals provide hands-on support to individuals with developmental disabilities in residential program settings. You’ll play a key role in promoting independence, daily living skills, and community inclusion.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Valid NY driver’s license required
- Prior experience supporting individuals with special needs strongly preferred
- Compassion, patience, and dedication to empowering others
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience supporting individuals with special needs strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Support individuals with daily living needs, personal goals, and community involvement
- Assist with meal preparation, medical appointments, and recreational activities
- Administer medication (with AMAP certification)
- Ensure a safe, positive, and engaging program environment
- Complete required documentation and adhere to OPWDD and organizational policies
