About The Position

Dungarvin Supported Living, formerly Aacres, is a mission-driven team dedicated to providing person-centered supports to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or complex medical needs, enabling them to live as independently as possible. Since 1976, the company has focused on respect, response, and choice. The Direct Support Professional (DSP), or caregiver, is responsible for offering direct support, hands-on instruction, assistance, and positive guidance to these individuals. The role ensures their health, safety, and successful achievement of service objectives and personal goals. The company seeks individuals passionate about providing care and making a positive impact on the lives of those they support.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old
Able to attend two weeks of PAID in-house orientation and training
Have a passion to help others through person-centered care
Dependable, adaptable, and flexible
Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred

Responsibilities

Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
Provide companionship and personalized care while encouraging independence and self-care.
Assist with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
Prepare meals and snacks.
Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties.
Provide mobility and transfer assistance, which may include using mechanical lift devices.
Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when needed.
Other duties as assigned

Wage: $20.00/hour (The rate of pay and pay scale provided for this position are based on title and geographical location) Full range scale: $20.00-$22.30
