The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for providing direct support, hands-on instruction, assistance, and positive direction to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) in a manner that ensures their health, safety, successful achievement of service objectives, and personal goals. Good communication is key in this role. You'll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.

Nice To Haves

Previous Direct Support Professional or caregiver experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Assist with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
Complete medication administration and follow medical protocols.
Prepare meals and snacks.
Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties.
Provide mobility and transfer assistance, which may include using mechanical lift devices.
Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when needed.
Other duties as assigned
