About The Position

Summary: The Direct Support Professional (DSP)/Activity Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing meaningful, person-centered daily activities for individuals served in Noble’s Adult Day Service Program. This position plays a key role in supporting the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive well-being of participants by creating engaging opportunities that promote independence, community inclusion, personal growth, and overall quality of life. This position will work collaboratively with program leadership to ensure activities align with individual goals, agency standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Experience working with individuals with IDD or in a caregiving or DSP role
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead and motivate groups
Strong organizational and time-management skills
High school diploma or GED required
Ability to lift, bend and provide physical support as needed
Must have ability to lift/move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. periodically

Nice To Haves

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Recreation, Education, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement person-centered activity plans for daily, weekly, and monthly activity schedules based on individual interests, abilities, and support plans.
Lead individual and group activities such as exercise, life-skills training, community outings, games, and recreational events.
Adapt activities as needed to support participation, inclusion dignity, respect and positive engagement for all individuals.
Plan and coordinate community-based activities, volunteer outings and recreational trips.
Build relationships with local organizations to expand activity opportunities.
Ensure transportation arrangements are safe and compliant with agency policies.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, activity participation, progress notes and goal outcomes
Follow all agency policies, state regulations and safety requirements
Communicate effectively with supervisors, families and team members regarding individual needs and progress
Provide direct support to individuals with IDD, promoting independence, choice, and dignity.
Assist individuals with daily living needs as required (e.g., meals, hygiene, mobility).
Support individuals during activities to ensure comfort, engagement, and safety.
Work closely with other DSPs, supervisors, and interdisciplinary team members to support individual service plans.
Participate in team meetings, training, and planning for each day program site.
Provide input on program improvements and new activity ideas
Perform other duties as necessary or assigned
