About The Position

PathPoint is excited to welcome a new per-diem Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our ACCESS team in Lancaster, CA. ACCESS is a day program that provides skills training and support to adults with physical and developmental disabilities while in the community. As a DSP, you will develop and teach invaluable life skills to the people we support, helping foster independence. The curriculum for our programs includes communication skills, money management, housing, public transportation and self-advocacy. Additionally, vocational skills are taught to prepare for entry-level employment. You will also have the opportunity to lead groups on community outings for recreation and volunteer opportunities.

Requirements

• Prior experience supporting or instructing individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required.
• Patience and compassion in interactions with individuals with disabilities and their families.
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.
• Basic knowledge of programs used for remote communication such as Teams/Zoom is desired.
• Must have a valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and 5 years of driving experience.
