The Association for Individual Development (AID) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower people with physical, developmental, intellectual, mental health challenges; those who have suffered a trauma; and those at risk, to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose. We are looking for a Direct Support Professional 24 Hr Coverage - Program Support who demonstrates this mission and wants to work for an organization that makes a difference in the community. The DSP Program Support is responsible for the support needs of the assigned caseload. Assures the timely scheduling, completion, and documentation of routine, required, and urgent medical appointments per applicable standards. Also assists with maintaining Public Entitlements for assigned caseload or other individuals as needed. The DSP Program Support is able to work in any environment, assisting with staff training and or retraining as needed. The DSP Program Support will ensure clients’ dignity, privacy, and rights are protected. Will monitor the cleanliness of the homes to ensure a clean and safe environment is maintained and be familiar and comply with all applicable program and agency regulations. The DSP may work with clients with maladaptive behaviors, which can include but are not limited to verbal aggression, physical aggression, self-injurious behavior, property destruction, and elopement. The DSP may also work with clients who require intensive care including but not limited to toileting and bathing, special diets with personal and/or enteral feeding, and enhanced funding. This position is responsible for 5 different Aurora locations. You will be required to complete assigned shifts at each location per business needs. This is a day shift position. Holidays are a requirement for the position.
