About The Position

CCAR Industries is searching for a full-time, 35 hour per week direct support person to work at our Locust Street Day Program. Direct support personnel (DSPs) support individuals with developmental disabilities as they engage in organized activities and enjoy leisure time activities at the program and in the community. The DSP will transport individuals to activities in the community and to/from the day program in agency-owned vehicles. In addition, they work as a team to plan recreational activities in the community. SCHEDULE This is a permanent full-time, daytime position on Monday - Friday from 8 am to 3:00 pm (35 hours/week). Weekends and major holidays off.

Requirements

Must have a valid driver's license
Must be 18 years old
Must pass a criminal background check, as required by the Healthcare Worker Background Check Act (225 ILCS 46), and a DCFS CANTS background check.
Must be able to work independently or as a team
Demonstrate timeliness and accuracy in documentation

Nice To Haves

Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a direct support role is preferred, but related caregiving experience will be considered.
