The Direct Service Professional (DSP) helps create a safe and fun space for school age children of all abilities to learn and play. You will care for children, help the teacher with activities, and make sure everyone is safe. You’ll also talk to parents about how their kids are doing and help children grow in different ways: mentally, emotionally, socially, and physically. MAIN DUTIES: Keep the children safe: Always watch the children to make sure they’re okay. Help with things like handwashing, changing diapers, and feeding kids with special needs. Report any problems right away. Help the teacher plan and lead activities: You will help set up and run activities that are fun and teach the kids. You’ll also keep the space clean and organized. You’ll work with the teacher to make sure everyone feels safe and happy. You will be actively involved and playing with children. Talk to parents: You will speak with parents about how their child is doing. You’ll help answer their questions and share important information. Complete paperwork: You will fill out reports about the children and their progress. You’ll also make sure everything is ready for your shift, like clocking in and out. Training: You’ll need to complete required trainings as assigned. Other Help keep the classroom clean and organized. Learn about all the programs Hand in Hand offers to help tell other people about them. Communicate with your coworkers and supervisors to make sure everything runs smoothly.
