About The Position

National General, a part of The Allstate Corporation, is seeking a Direct Sales Agent Specialist. This role is responsible for driving profitable growth and achieving business goals by focusing on new business sales and building customer rapport and trust. The specialist will build and retain a book of business within a market/retail location, attracting and generating new customers, and cross-selling existing customers across various product offerings including Auto, Life, Auto Club, and Roadside Assistance. The position involves selling to walk-in customers, marketing products outside the office through calls and in-person community visits to foster growth, and assisting customers in the office. Responsibilities

  • Successfully close sales of insurance and ancillary products.
  • Meet and exceed sales goals through new product sales, cross-sell, and retention of customers.
  • Leverage community contacts (natural market) to continually build a sales pipeline.
  • Maintain an active physical presence in your own community to build multiple centers of influence/referral sources (e.g., car dealerships, local events, community organizations).
  • Initiate outbound calling to an established target customer base for product offerings.
  • Monitor key competitors in the local market area and make suggestions on initiatives to improve the company’s market position.
  • Work with Direct Sales Leadership to plan, implement, and manage marketing and sales processes to achieve production and growth goals.
  • Deliver optimal results within appropriate metrics, including quality, quantity, timeliness, productivity, customer satisfaction, and financial performance, while complying with all rules, procedures, and standards consistent with manager’s supervision.
  • Understand, promote, and remain current on company underwriting guidelines, announcements, and memos related to changes in company policies and procedures.
  • Receive customer payments, issue receipts, and verify reports of receipts for cash drawers.
