About The Position

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in the Direct to Consumer origination business preferred.
  • Must comply with all requirements set forth in the SAFE Act, including background checks and obtaining a unique identifier for the NMLS.
  • Some business or professional experience is ideal.
  • Sales experience is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable speaking to customers over the phone.
  • Desire and willingness to call on prospective and existing clients for sales opportunities.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and processes.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS applications and experience with laptop technology.

Responsibilities

  • Originate mortgage loans that meet Flagstar Bank's credit and underwriting requirements.
  • Perform all origination tasks in accordance with industry and regulatory guidelines and requirements.
  • Achieve sales and referral goals by developing a unique customer experience.
  • Refer clients to other Flagstar business partners for additional financial products and services.
  • Answer calls from the queue and follow up on internet leads, making outbound calls as necessary.
  • Proactively seek ways to develop and expand customer relationships to achieve departmental and personal goals.
  • Meet monthly goals, including applications taken, lead conversion rates, applications closed, and call volume.
  • Provide status updates and assist processing with the collection of trailing borrower documentation needed for loan processing and closing.
  • Facilitate communications with borrowers and real estate agents, keeping both informed throughout the process.
  • Attend required production meetings and complete all necessary training.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
