About The Position

Tessera is seeking a skilled Direct Digital Controls (DDC) Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building automation and control systems at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor. This role is critical to ensuring reliable facility operations, system efficiency, and compliance with safety and performance standards. The DDC Technician will work closely with team members to implement system upgrades, monitor performance, and support energy-saving initiatives while providing technical guidance to staff. Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma/GED is required; Associate degree preferred.
  • 0-3 years' experience in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a related field. Equivalent combination of experience and education allowed
  • Experience with direct digital controls, building automation systems, or related technology.
  • Proficient understanding of control theory, HVAC systems, and energy management practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, programs, and configures direct digital control systems and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to DDC systems, including sensors, actuators, and controllers.
  • Reviews and analyzes control schematics, diagrams, and system documentation to aid in diagnostics and repairs.
  • Collaborates with team members to design and implement system upgrades and improvements.
  • Educates and trains staff on the operation and maintenance of DDC systems.
  • Maintains accurate records of service performed, system changes, and inventory of parts.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during all operational procedures.
  • Monitors system performance and recommends energy-saving upgrades or modifications.
  • Conducts routine maintenance and inspections on DDC systems to ensure accurate functionality and reliability.
  • This position may be subject to call-back availability based on operational needs.
