About the position

The Direct Care Worker position involves providing essential care and supervision to residents in a group home setting. The role focuses on assisting with daily activities, implementing personalized care plans, and fostering a supportive environment for youth. Direct Care Workers are expected to maintain a safe and structured living space while documenting residents' activities and collaborating with team members to ensure high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care and supervision to youth in the group home.
• Assist with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and recreational activities.
• Implement personalized care plans and engage residents in programs that foster growth and social interaction.
• Create and maintain a safe, structured, and positive living environment.
• Accurately document residents' activities, behavior, and any notable incidents.
• Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure consistent and high-quality care.
• Participate in training, team meetings, and ongoing development activities.
• Perform administrative duties, including scheduling appointments and maintaining individuals' schedules.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Experience working with youth, especially in a residential or care setting.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in challenging situations.
• Must pass background checks.

Nice-to-haves

• Additional training or certification in caregiving or youth services is a plus.
• 1 year of direct care experience (preferred).
