About The Position

Works under the direction/supervision of the Unit/Program Supervisor, performs paraprofessional activities in instructing clients in basic personal and
social skills or in work-related social and personal activities; performs related work as required.

Requirements

• Two (2) years of college, including a minimum of twenty (20) credit hours in psychology, counseling, education,sociology, social work, or any combination of the preceding
• High school graduation or equivalent AND one (1) year paraprofessional experience working with persons with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities.
• Must have successfully completed all modules/areas of a Michigan Department of Community Health-approved Direct Care Worker Curriculum/Training Program. Non-certified individuals will be considered, but must achieve certification within six (6) months of hire.
• Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license, including a chauffeur’s license, and be willing to transport clients in agency vehicles to various community activities. Will consider a candidate without a chauffer’s license, but must obtain one within thirty (30) days of hire.
• Veterans must submit Form DD214 to determine eligibility for Veterans’ Preference
• Interested applicants must clearly show they meet the minimum qualifications
