About The Position

The Direct Care Worker (DCW) supports adult individuals with developmental disabilities in a licensed residential group home setting. This position provides hands-on personal care, behavioral support, and daily living assistance to residents in a male residential program. The DCW is responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, and respectful environment while supporting independence, skill development, and community participation in accordance with individualized support plans and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; DSP, CNA, HHA, or related experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a male residential living environment and provide personal care support to male residents.
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Three professional references required.
  • Strong communication skills, professionalism, and ability to maintain appropriate boundaries.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting, standing, and responding to emergencies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and/or behavioral support needs preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and ability to transport residents.
  • Article 9 Certification
  • Prevention and Support Certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to residents in a male residential group home, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, feeding, and mobility.
  • Implement approved support and behavior strategies consistently and professionally to promote safety and stability within the home.
  • Observe and monitor residents’ physical and emotional well-being and promptly report concerns to supervisory or nursing staff.
  • Administer prescribed oral medications and provide delegated health-related support in accordance with training, care plans, and agency policy.
  • Encourage independence, positive routines, and engagement through structured daily activities.
  • Prepare and serve meals according to dietary guidelines and individual support plans.
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the home, including housekeeping and laundry tasks.
  • Transport and accompany residents to medical appointments, community outings, employment, or recreational activities as needed.
  • Accurately document services provided, daily observations, and any incidents in compliance with agency and state requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and interdisciplinary partners to ensure continuity of care.
  • Follow all safety procedures, emergency protocols, and residential licensing standards.
