About The Position
The Direct Care Worker (DCW) position is a vital role within the Adult Day Health Services team, focused on providing compassionate and person-centered care to members. The DCW collaborates closely with Team Leaders, Nurses, and Member Advocates to ensure that members can successfully complete their daily activities while promoting their dignity and independence. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for those served, as it involves engaging members in various activities that bring joy and fulfillment to their day-to-day experiences. In this position, the DCW is responsible for delivering care with a positive attitude, demonstrating enthusiasm, compassion, and understanding. The role includes assisting or leading group discussions, sensory stimulation, exercise, and crafts, as well as participating in care plan meetings and documenting member activities. The DCW also plays a crucial role in monitoring the health and safety of members, providing assistance with personal care needs, and ensuring that the environment is clean and safe. The DCW is expected to engage in continuous improvement efforts, comply with all policies and procedures, and actively participate in training and development opportunities. This position does not have direct reports, but it requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with members and work effectively within a team.
