About The Position
The Direct Care Worker / Instructor - Floater / PRN position at Reach Unlimited, Inc. is a part-time role focused on providing essential support and supervision to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the provision of active treatment, which includes implementing training programs and services as specified in Individual Habilitation Plans (IHPs) and/or plans of care. The Direct Care Worker will document the provision of training and services, ensuring that all activities align with the established care plans. This role also involves providing transportation for individuals to various appointments and activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. In this position, the Direct Care Worker will assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, money management, meal preparation, and socialization. The worker will implement training and behavioral programs tailored to each client's needs, maintaining a thorough understanding of their specific requirements. Additionally, the role requires supervising individuals in self-administration of medication and ensuring that dietary needs are met according to physician and registered dietician specifications. Accurate and timely documentation of services provided is crucial, as is reporting any facility maintenance issues to maintain a safe living environment. The Direct Care Worker is expected to treat all individuals with dignity and respect, maintain confidentiality, and communicate effectively with clients and coworkers. The role requires attending and completing all necessary training and maintaining an effective working relationship with colleagues. The worker will also be responsible for promoting cost containment measures while ensuring the quality of client care is not compromised. This position is vital in supporting individuals in achieving their personal goals and enhancing their quality of life.
