Johnson County Mental Health is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Direct Care Supervisor at the The Recovery Place. This position is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of direct care staff at our Shawnee, Kansas location. The Supervisor hires, trains, and evaluates the performance of direct care staff and ensures uninterrupted coverage of the unit. The Direct Care Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the treatment unit, including monitoring of catering, housekeeping, and other outside services. The Direct Care Supervisor supports staff in identifying and supporting clients presenting or exhibiting symptoms of withdrawal from substances and Behavioral Health Crisis symptoms. The Supervisor provides and documents direct services to clients, as scheduled; participates in program development activities; models, teaches, and contributes to staff development; and serves as a liaison between direct care staff and clinical/supervisory staff. The schedule for this position would vary and require a rotating schedule. First review of applications will be on April 16th.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Social Work or relevant field
two (2) years’ experience working in behavioral health or relevant field
flexible availability
valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
Education can substitute for experience, experience can substitute for education

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree in Social Work or relevant field
one (1) year leading, directing, supervising or coordinating the work of others
licensed as an addiction counselor or other relevant mental health license preferred

Responsibilities

Provides Leadership and Direction to Direct Care staff.
Maintains uninterrupted coverage of the unit, provides guidance and direction to staff; authorizes changes to the client schedule; assigns duties to direct care staff as needed.
Provides 1:1 client supports and crisis management and care coordination; coaches and trains on therapeutic interventions including PBS implementation.
Collaborates with Clinical staff on managing and intervening with client behaviors and behavioral health needs.
Reviews staff charting for accuracy, completeness and compliance with program guidelines and licensing standards.
Models professional behavior and skills to direct care staff; coaches (PPD's) and assists with staff on areas for growth.
