About The Position

Performs daily tasks, including checking vital signs and weighing residents, as set forth by the Lead RMA, Nursing Supervisor, DON, Unit Coordinator, Administrator or Designee and cooperate fully with all staff in the best interest of the residents and to act as a team member in all areas Is knowledgeable of the individualized care plan for residents and provides support to the residents according to their care plan. Contributes to the care planning process by providing the care planning staff with specific information and observations of the residents’ needs and preferences Possesses the ability to follow complex written and oral directions Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors Provides resident supervision and/or assistance with activities of daily living, (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinent care, transferring, feeding, communication, ambulation, and documents ADLs provided by employee Assists with meal service and clean up process Encourages and documents daily nutritional intake Assists with obtaining vital signs and weights for residents Fully understands all aspects of residents’ rights, including the right to be free of restraints and free of abuse. Is responsible for promptly reporting to Lead RMA, Nursing Supervisor, DON, Administrator or Designee incidents or evidence of resident abuse or violation of residents’ rights Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of residents in the delivery of services to them. Interacts with residents in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring, homelike environment. Maintains confidentiality about all aspects of residents

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED
  • Hold a valid certificate of completion of 120 hours coursework or present NA (Nurse Aide) certificate, PCA (Personal Care Aide) certificate, DCA (Direct Care Assistant) Certificate from a reputable and recognizable affiliation within the guidelines of the Virginia Board of Nursing/Department of Health Professions
  • State Police background check that is free from barrier offenses
  • A current Tuberculosis screening on or within 7 days prior to the first day of employment and free from Tuberculosis
  • The ability to obtain CPR/FA training within 60 days of hire and maintain a current certification
  • The ability to meet physical requirements for position
  • The ability to pass a drug test
