About The Position

Located in Tucson, AZ, our Respite Program successfully provides an interval of rest for individuals and their primary caregivers without disruption to their home environments. We provide Respite services to individuals from birth to the age of 17, who are experiencing moderate emotional or behavioral difficulties. Through the Respite program, kids get to enjoy group activities and go on field trips to museums, roller skating, movies, arcades, park visits, and more! And, we operate out of residential houses, creating a fun and safe home-like environment for those in our care. As a Direct Care Professional (DCP), you will work directly with the children/youth to be seen as a positive role model - dedicated and truly caring about their well-being. DCP’s mentor and have fun with kids doing various year-round activities such as art projects, field trips, and various athletics (basketball, soccer, Frisbee, etc)! You will assist and support the planning, implementation, and documentation of those programs designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of individuals in the Respite Program. Pay Range: $17 - $18.70 / hr. Weekend Schedules (schedules are subject to change): Part Time: 12-hour shifts every Saturday and two (2) Sundays per month On-Call: Minimum of three (3) 12-hour shifts per month (minimum of one (1) shift per weekend; three (3) shifts per month) Benefits and Rewards We strive to create an inclusive environment, and retain the talented employees who make our organization a great place to work. Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 36-month history check
  • Previous experience working with children/adolescents with behavioral/emotional needs required
  • OR Bachelor’s degree in the areas of psychology, sociology, social work, education or other related field OR 12 years of related experience
  • Must be able to do a minimum of one (1) shift per weekend; three (3) shifts per month
  • Attend mandatory full time, paid, New Hire Orientation Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm
  • Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)
  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results
  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions). Arizona Revised Statutes Notice (ARS 36-411 Residential care institutions; nursing care institutions; home health agencies; fingerprinting requirements; exemptions; definitions). If a person's employment record contains a six-month or longer time frame during which the person was not employed by any employer, a completed application with a new set of fingerprints shall be submitted to the department of public safety.   • Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders
